Works: Trees
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
A large branch broke away from the central trunk of a large Cherry tree TPO T264 in high winds and was subsequently identified as diseased and rotten right through (see photo of fallen diseased branch). A tree surgeon has removed the broken branch and another small branch in the diseased section which was hanging over the garden and was potentially dangerous. The tree has now been made safe by a tree surgeon. We want to try to keep the Cherry tree, though it is very old but it is possible that other parts are also diseased. The tree surgeon recommends a crown reduction of between 2-3m to try to save it, if it is possible to do so. See photo of whole tree.

5 X LIME. Tiliax europaea (G15). Pollarding Each year these trees exude a sticky sap which falls on our cars and those of our neighbours at No.186. The sap covers the exterior of the cars, gets in the window opening/closing mechanism and attracts wasps. This increases our risk of being stung. In addition, the trees significantly reduce the amount of light in our kitchen when they are in leaf. The main problem, in essence, is that the trees are unsuitable for this location, being too many in number, too close together and having too large and dense a canopy. Pollarding them will significantly reduce the production of sap and leaf cover without harming the trees. Our trees have a bigger impact on our neighbour's cars because their parking area is limited. I should like to apply for a renewal of the 5 year consent, last granted in 2019, to pollard the trees annually.
