Works: Trees
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
1 x Ash tree - fell. Overcrowding and it is impacting growth of adjacent conifers and substanial overhang onto front drive. Red Cedars at rear of property - reduce height by 3 - 4 m There are 4 cedars that need topping out on the rear of the property. One of them is bifurcated. The reduced height will be back to the point of previous cuts. The Ash is on the boundary with Miraflores, but all of the growth is towards our property. I have consulted with the owner of Miraflores they would also like the Ash removed as well which self seeded a few years ago and we have agreed to jointly cover the costs. I have included in this TPO since we were having the additional work done to the rear.

Lawson Cypress x 4 - T1, T2, T3 & T4 Fell the 4 trees to ground level. Due to poor condition as once was maintained as a hedge, now overgrown on old pruning points creating over extended thin tops with potential for failure next to neighbouring property and electrical substation. Additional works for low level vegetation removal at front of substation (A1), although not part of the application due to exemptions of stem diameter size for vegetation. G1 - x 3 conifers customer has had concerns regarding the over hang into the neighbours property. Customer will also be building an out house nearby and is concerned about potential damage to the roots. I have recommended the removal of the first 3 stems out of the group. This will provide approximately 6 to 7 metre clearance from the trees being retained which will prevent damage to the root system. The residents still wish to retain the remaining conifers and will also be replanting laurels once the building is complete.
