Land At Long Spring Sarratt Lane Loudwater Hertfordshire
Works: Trees
Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.
Proposal
T1 - ASH - Dead stump at a height of 5M , risk of falling over T2 - OAK - Dead canopy , this had been damaged when the Granted ASH tree has felled . T3 - OAK - Dead canopy and sever decay at the stem T4 - HORNBEAM - Dead stem Holly bushes to be removed in order to allow for works , this will regenerate by next spring. Reason for works is : We had more than 5 big trees fallen because of the storm since we bought the land in Jan 2019. We bought this property in order to enjoy the nature with our family as it is very close to our home ( only 5 min drive) . I didn't felt safe anymore to go there with my children in order to avoid any accidents. Also we noticed that other people are walking on that land too as every time we went there we came back home with a bag full of rubbish ( cans , napkins , cardboard , etc) I believe it is my responsibility if any trees are falling and harming someone , I don't believe the council will be responsible for the land as long as it is private. A specialized company Oaklands of Rickmansworth were hired to do all the works and assessment.

TPO760 T50 Mature oak tree has died. We request permission to remove all branches to just leave the main trunk. Over recent years the tree has been progressively later to come into leaf and earlier to lose its' leaves than the adjacent mature oak. This year the tree has not produced any leaves at all. A local tree surgeon, Tom from T's Trees has inspected the tree and does not believe the tree trunk to be hollow. Photo2 shows damage around the trunk, which may be related to the tree's death. This damage was there when the current owners moved in.
