What a grant of permission means
The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

T1 - Beech - Lowest branches are in contact with the phone wire. Prune lowest branches to provide a 1.5m line clearance T2 - Sycamore - Tree over hangs the residents cars. The sap has caused engine damage to 2 cars since they have moved in. The cars have been written off due to the sap from the tree. Paper work can shown to prove this. T3 - Cedar - In the past the tree has dropped several limbs due to end weight. End weight to be reduced on over extended limbs (approx 1-1.5m) T4 - Beech - Lower branches are in contact with outhouse. Prune to provide a 1.5m clearance T5 - Douglas fir - Tree has a severe lean towards the neighbours garden. Customer is concerned about potential failure of the tree. The tree has dropped branches in the past and has very few live/active limbs without signs of decline (ie. deadwood)

G1 - 10 x beech trees, 1 x young alder, 1 x young oak. Reduction of lateral limbs up to 2m (to suitable growth points) that over hang into Holly Trees garden to allow for more light into the garden while still retaining the trees natural form and coverage. T1 - 1 x Douglas Fur. End weight reduction on lowest limb (approx. 1.5m) to prevent limb failure over children's play area. T2 - 1 x Blue atlas cedar. Light crown reduction (approx 1.5m) to allow for more light to the garden. Tree blocks light considerably however customer is still happy with a light reduction as recommended by myself. T3 - 1 x Black pine. Reduce lower limb back to secondary growth (approx 1.5m) to prevent pine cones from dropping on recently new decking.
