Works: Trees
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
T1 - Oak tree in rear garden. Work required: 30% Crown Thinning and 30% Crown Reduction. Crown Reduction by 2 meters. Work is now required to bring the tree back to shape. The height of the tree will remain untouched, however the spread of the tree to return back to 7 meters after pruning. The tree was last pruned June 2017 under application number 16/1360/TPO. The tree is T349 Married Quarters, Carpenders Park No 1 97. Since last pruned, the crown all round the tree has grown in volume restricting light coming through and the branches have spread into our neighbours garden at both 63 and 65 Highfield. Work would be required to reduce the outer parts of the crown to give it a balanced shape and size, and thinning to reduce the amount of dense foliage.

The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
