Decided Tandridge 2026/912/TPO Consent under Tree Preservation Orders

Works: Trees

Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.

Proposal

T1. Copper beech: to crown lift the road overhanging branches by 7 metres, this will involve just removing small branch growth and not main branches. because of this highway request and to keep the canopy balanced looking; as the tree is so prominent, the crown lift is to be cut all round the lower canopy, keeping a level cut, again this will be without removing any large branches. To reduce the canopy width all round by 1.5 metres, from 14 metres to 11, this will aid the highway and the property, for which the tree is getting forever bigger To reduce the height from 21 metres to 19 metres

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
