39 Merrywood Park Camberley Surrey GU15 1JR

Granted Surrey Heath Tree Works Application

Proposal

T1 - Lowson Cypress - Fell to ground level. (The tree is dead and therefore has no amenity value. Its condition presents a potential safety risk due to the likelihood of structural failure and falling debris. Removal is recommended on safety grounds and to prevent any hazard to persons or property.) works subject to TPO/14/72. T2 ? Oak ? Reduce the crown by 2-2.5m, remove deadwood and any cross or damaged branches. Height 22m, spread 16m now, after reduction 20m in height and 14m in spread. T3 ? Beech ? Reduce the crown by 3-3.5m, remove major deadwood and any cross or damaged branches. Height 22m, spread 15m now, after reduction 19m in height and 12m in spread. T2 and T3 - The crowns reduction is proposed to maintain the tree at an appropriate size for its surroundings, improving light penetration to adjacent areas. Removal of deadwood and defective branches will enhance safety by reducing the risk of falling material. These works will also promote the long-term health and structural integrity of the tree.

What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
