  • TWA/25/0328 Granted

    23 Castle Road Camberley Surrey GU15 2DS

Removal of beech tree showing clear signs of Meripilus giganteus, a decay fungus that causes significant deterioration of the structural root plate and is strongly associated with sudden, unpredictable whole-tree failure. Although the crown currently appears healthy, the presence of fruiting bodies indicates advanced root decay that cannot be remedied or reliably mitigated through pruning. Given the tree?s compromised stability and its proximity to regularly used areas, it now presents an unacceptable safety risk. For these reasons, removal is considered the most appropriate management option, with a suitable replacement tree to be planted to maintain amenity value.
