Works: Trees
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
Refer to document TRE/HCCLS/WMP for full plan details and sketches. The woodland is approximately 40 years old with a mix of different broadleaved species including a small number of pines within the woodland. Compartments have been marked out for tree removal (see Appendix 1). Compartment 1 will be cleared leaving 1 fully mature Sycamore in place. The trees are of a poor quality, with Ash dieback present. Compartment 2 will also be cleared adjacent the building, there are 8 trees within the area of poor quality. Compartment 3 contains a selection of 8 trees which are on the edge of the woodland located within the garden. These are proposed to be removed in order to provide light to garden enabling improved utilisation of horticultural growing space. Compartment 4 will be cleared to make room for a vegetable garden and mini orchard. The pines that are planted within the woodland are spaced out at 2m intervals; these will be removed. This space will be replanted with new broadleaved species. Thin out general area, removing Elder and Willow, while taking self-seeded trees less than 10cm DBH. The hazel can be coppiced on a 5-year rotation. There are a number of Ash trees with dieback and dead trees within the woodland which will need removing. HAR/CA3.
