Oak Tree - Fell Oak Tree. The tree has grown at an angle over the river. The customers concern is if the tree was to fall it would uplift the bank as it has done further down with similar growing trees. Beech Tree (2) - Crown lift Beech tree to allow more light. TPO#: 10E, TPO#: 141E.

We wish to carry out work on the trees marked on the sketch plan provided: T1 - Birch tree - Removal T2 - Sycamore - Removal T3 - Beech - Whole crown reduction to 12m above ground level, to provide sufficient clearance to property T4 - Beech - Whole crown reduction to 12m above ground level, to provide sufficient clearance to property I am writing to request consent to work on four trees located at the rear boundary of our garden at 18 Longhurst Lane. These trees have grown very tall and now significantly block natural light from our house and garden for much of the day. We are also increasingly concerned about the potential risk of damage to our property/vehicles or neigbouring properties from falling branches or root spread, particularly during high winds and storms. The Birch and Sycamore in particular are approximately 8m from our property and we feel it is best they are removed completely. The trees do not provide screening or privacy for us or for any of our neighbours ? in fact, several neighbours have commented that they gain no benefit from them and that the height and density are now more of a nuisance than an amenity. If consent is granted, we would be happy to: - Work on the trees using a qualified and insured tree surgeon, and - Consider replanting with more appropriate, lower-growing species that are better suited to a residential garden and less likely to cause damage. Tree 1 - sycamore adjacent to river Goyt/ Grayson Court. All dead wood was removed end of January 2023 & ivy severed at base. Tree now showing further signs of decline. TPO officer Peter Pollard agreed tree in decline & due to proximity of adjacent residential properties should be felled to the ground to make safe and retrospective application submitted. Tree 2 - sycamore opposite number 15 Low Lea Rd, at base of hill by telephone pole (W13). All dead wood removed end of January 2023 & crown reduction completed & ivy severed at base. Tree now showing further signs of decline & dead wood visible. TPO officer Peter Pollard agreed tree in decline and to fell to ground to make safe and retrospective application be submitted. It is proposed both trees are felled to the ground. The work is proposed to be conducted on the 17th & 19th June 2024. Peter Pollard agreed both trees should be felled to the ground & an application be submitted retrospectively. There is an abundance of saplings and established trees on site so no need to replant. Pine - removal - tree species is very big for narrow back garden location. Difficult species to crown reduce to control size / maintenance. Concidering the garden has an other established tree and smaller stock we felt the removal was justified if tree was replaced with something smaller. HAR/CA36.
