Planning application
Chelford House, Flat 14 Offerton Old Road Offerton Stockport SK2 5GE
Works: Trees
Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.
Proposal
Ash (T5) - reduce crown by 50% to reduce area in the canopy as the tree has lost several limbs over the winter. Carrying out this work will reduce the possibility of the tree failing and causing damage to cars parked underneath in the car par and also to passers by as it is located next to and overhangs a public highway. The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About trees applications
How this application type works
Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.

Pine - removal - tree species is very big for narrow back garden location. Difficult species to crown reduce to control size / maintenance. Concidering the garden has an other established tree and smaller stock we felt the removal was justified if tree was replaced with something smaller. HAR/CA36.
