About advertising applications

How this application type works

Advertisement consent controls signs, hoardings and other adverts. The council may only judge two things: amenity, meaning the effect on the appearance of the building and area, and public safety, chiefly whether a sign distracts road users or obstructs sight lines. Other planning considerations, such as competition between businesses, do not apply.

The removal of one lime tree from the bottom corner of the rear garden of 43 Heaton Moor rd. The tree is marked with an red X on the attached plan of the property. The tree will be replaced by a more manageable Malus sylvestris tree. The removal of the tree is for the following reasons. 1. The lime tree is substantially blocking light to our property and the neighbour's throughout the afternoon. The tree and is foliage is causing damage and light depredation to the rest of the garden. 2. The tree grows at uncontrollable rate every year and is hard to control even with annual pruning. Branches are falling on to the pedestrian pathway throughout periods and are intertwined between several telephone cables running over the property. 3. The tree is inhibiting the growth of grass in the garden, which is reducing the amount of "play area" for two young children at the property. In affect rendering the back garden as unusable in large areas. 4. The sap given off by the tree inhibits the use of the driveway to park cars during summer months, thus forcing us to park on the road. HAR/CA15
