Granted Southwark 25/AP/2982 Tree works 5 day notification

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

Five day notification for tree works: T1 Crab Apple tree in front garden - Limb fell into neighbours garden, the remaining tree has a dead limb growing towards the house and the rest of the canopy is very thin and would be susceptible to additional wind stress. Pollard to 4m to allow it to regenerate from a lower structure.

Works to tree with a TCA: T1-Eucalyptus Very large tree with a full and wide spreading canopy. Historic wound at trunk base approx 1m high and 50cm wide with exposed heartwood. Tree leans to the South West slightly. Previously crown reduced with dense and extensive re-growth. Suggested works are to reduce crown back to previous points by approximately 3-4m from branch tips in height and 2-3 from branch tips laterally. Thin out by 20% to improve light and airflow, removing selected secondary branches to open the canopy up a bit more and provide less roosting spots for pigeons. The reasons for these works are to reduce the weight and wind sail effect given the defect at base and close proximity to the house.
