Tree works CA The tree False Acacia (Robinia pseudo acacia) located directly behind (to the north) of 46 Choumert Square, located directly next to the private access pedestrian footpath of Choumert Square. Historical pruning of this tree has occurred at an unknown time, causing a reduction in total height to approximately 6.5 - 7 meters. Vigorous regrowth arising on dormant epicormic buds have resulted in the development of a new crown. Although the tree exhibits vigor, there is some evidence of minor cavities present because of historical pruning practices. These are mostly stated on the northern most three stems of the tree. Propose regenerative pruning works to be carried out. The main purpose of these works is to provide additional light to penetrate through the crown and into the property, at request of the applicant. We propose to re-pollard the tree to the historical pollarding points. Propose to pollard the other larger limbs (see Figure 6) to rebalance the tree crown and maintain a consistent pollard height across the whole tree. This will include pollarding the long limb extending southwards and the smaller of the three main trunks on the southern aspect. This aims to maintain crown balance.
