TG2 Lawson Cypress group - Annual trimming maintenance W1 Mixed species wood; Oak, Beech Sycamore with Laurel, Holly, Cypress - Fell dead / dying Ash / Sycamore trees. Remove major dead wood over site and gardens. Fell stems with high H:D ratio where leaning and overhanging accessible areas. Fell dead stems where liable to fail into gardens. Priority 2 works rose to 14 trees and 1 woodland (2024: 8 trees and 1 wood), primarily involving the removal of several declining and structurally compromised trees, including 2 Ash exhibiting advanced symptoms of Hymenoscyphus fraxineus (Ash Dieback). The woodland compartment W1 continues to contain dead or dying Ash and minor safety clearance is again recommended along the site boundary and access path. These works exempt as for dead wood and dead / dangerous stems only? Dead / dying stems would be from Ash dieback over 50% crown defoliation. (see above and attached report)
