Ash responds well to coppicing and pollarding, so should send up a number of new shoots which could be easily managed in the future. I have spoken to the owner of the adjoining house, which would be seriously impacted, and she has expressed strong support. Removing one of the pair of Cherries - 3B. There is a concern about its health given the bark damage and its removal, along with the coppicing of the Ash (2), would give the other Cherry 3A the opportunity to develop into a fine tree without the competition for light as well as opening up the centre of the site somewhat. Re-coppice the Goat Willow - 5. The straggly stems are conflicting with the adjoining Cherries and cannot be regarded as attractive. However the stump represents an important habitat and, I would suggest, is a thing of considerable beauty and interest. Remarks:
