G1-G7 - Yew T1 - Holly T2 - Plum prunus sp Trees G1-7 Yew taxus baccata situated on eastern boundary of Coombe Lodge. It is proposed that the trees are reduced from 1/3 to 1/2 and trim side. Trees are now too close and too high in relation to Coombe Lodge. They affect light and are too close to roof and gutters. Consent has previously been given by you on a number of occasions. T1 - Holly elexsp. situated at far end of Yew boundary line. Reduce by 2-3 metres in height and trim as too close and high affecting light in relation to Coombe Lodge, Again, consent previously given. T2 - Plum plunus sp, this is in White House garden. Cut back overhanging branches and reduce height by 2m. Overhanging branches are invasive and the tree takes light. Again, consent previously given by you. Hazel Gardens, Sonning Common

T13 - Western Red Cedar T14 - Cypress The two trees next to one another (T13 & T14) have been discussed between myself and Philip Collings as we agree the lower canopys are getting too long and are overhanging the road. Cause for concerns are that residents cars are being scratched and high HGV vehicles (bin lorries) are driving in the middle of the road to avoid the trees. My control method to help improve the problem would be to lift the canopy by 10 ft incrasing headroom and vehicle access. I also suggested to spread any woodchippings under the trees afterwards as the ground is bare and since grass cant grow underneath, it would leave a nice finish after we lift the trees. Residents privacy has been considered, therefore with a 10 ft canopy lift, neighbours would still have a screen. Would a 10 ft canopy lift on both trees be ok to do?

3 Conduit Hill Rise, Thame, Oxon

T1 - Willow - Remove. Reason: The above tree is considered to be responsible for root induced clay shrinkage subsidence damage to the subject property - 5 Conduit Hill Rise, Thame OX9 2EJ. Investigations into the damage have been conducted and the following information/evidence obtained: 1. Engineering opinion is that damage is due to clay shrinkage subsidence. 2. Foundations are bearing on to clay. 3. The clay subsoil has a high volume change potential (NHBC guidelines). 4. A comparison between moisture content and the plastic and liquid limits suggests desiccation in TH/BH1 (November 2016). 5. The Oedometer strain graph shows a characteristic bulge indicative of desiccation. 6. Live roots from the subject Willow tree have been recovered from below foundation depth in TP/BH1 confirming the trees influence on soil moisture and volumes. 7. The observed desiccation is coincident with recorded root activity. 8. Desiccation is at depths beyond ambient soil drying effects and entirely consistent with the soil drying effects of the subject willow. 9. Level monitoring for the period 07.03.2016 to 05.04.2017 clearly shows a cyclical pattern of movement indicative of the effects of the willow tree on soil moisture and volumes to the rear of the property. The uplift phase of the building can only be attributable to an expanding clay soil from a shrunken (desiccated) state due to the soil drying effects of the willow. 10. The drainage survey has found no defects in the drains to the rear and by reference to the soil descriptions and soil test results, together with the level monitoring, leaking drains can be discounted as a cause of the damage. Established evidential and legal tests pertinent to subsidence damage claims have been met and the evidence confirms there can be no other cause of the movement and associated damage at the rear of the property other than the indirect influence of the willow tree. T1 Willow Spec: S15 Fell tree to ground level. Reason: R2 To ensure future compatibility with site, surroundings and usage

T13 & T14 - As discussed with local residents and the parish council T13 & T14 are tall and wide creating lots of shade and block the sun from gardens around. The trees are healthy and are at no risk of falling over from what I can see from my professional background, the trees are well rooted and there are no signs of die back anywhere. To help sunlight access residents gardens and reduce any risk to the trees blowing over, I'm asking consent to reduce the two trees in height by 5 m and to hedge trim/shape the trees leaving a tidy natural finish to the trees. Even by hedge trimming the trees it will promote sunlight into near gardens. Please see photos attached for proposed height reduction.

Beech at rear of garden has a couple of low branches that shade our greenhouse. See enclosed photo from branches in question. We would like to remove these branches using services of a tree surgeon. We will use David Cottrell who has much experience. The larger of the two branches is approx 15cm in diameter and the amount proposed to be removed is very small percentage of the entire tree. We would like to do this because at present our greenhouse cannot be used to grow things in the summer months as is too shady.
