The Lime tree has been pruned on many occasions in the past, more recently has been maintained as a re-structured lapsed pollard; regeneration growth is apparent in the upper crown and lateral spread from the most recent reduction work. The tree has prolific basal growth up to the main crown break. Proposed work specification: to remove a substantial portion of the basal epicormic to allow for basal inspection without damaging the screening of the adjoining hedge; to remove the epicormic up to crown break and to reduce the tree back to the the most recent point of pruning removing 2-3m of regeneration growth from the height and lateral spread to manage the trees overall size.
