What a grant of permission means
The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About heritage and listed buildings applications
How this application type works
Heritage applications concern listed buildings and conservation areas. Listed building consent is needed for works, inside or out, that affect the special interest of a listed building, and carrying out such works without consent is a criminal offence. The council weighs harm to the heritage asset against any public benefit of the proposal.

T1 - mature catalpa tree within the formal gardens to the east of the buildings at Le Manoir aux Quat'Saisons hotel and restaurant, Great Milton. The tree has recently suffered a split to one of the major lower scaffolds resulting in partial failure. The associated lower limbs are currently propping the failed scaffold. The intention is to reduce the end weight on the scaffold, hopefully without it failing completely, and to do a light reshape / rebalance of the crown. T2 - dead ivy covered cherry tree, one of a group of young cherry trees beside the original car park that has died. The intention is to fell it ground level.
