Coppice, cut back and 2 removals proposed and clearly visible in garden. Looking to also plant an Oak in memory of my husband whom passed away in September and make a wild garden at the end. The garden has been severely neglected and needs upkeep. I have recently moved into The Old Post Office, Baker Street, Aston Tirrold, OX11 9DD. Having checked the South Oxfordshire District Council conservation area map, I understand that the property lies within a conservation area. I have also checked available records and understand that none of the trees on the property are individually protected it seems, however cannot confirm the Ash which the neighbour owns. I purchased the house in December, and upon inspecting the garden it became apparent that the trees have been neglected. The previous owners confirmed that during their short tenure no tree work had been undertaken and very little the previous owners. As a result, several of the trees are in poor condition and would benefit from appropriate arboricultural management. In particular, there is a large Sweet Chestnut tree that has not been cared for, and a Cherry tree in very poor condition located adjacent to the shed, which I would like to remove this one T4. In addition, I would like to plant a new Oak tree in the rear garden towards the back (in discussion with Mighty Oak company) in memory of my husband, who recently passed away in September 2025 and also what prompted my move to have a more tranquil and peaceful setting to bring nature into the garden. I have numbered the trees below and provided (attached) photographs with approximate locations for reference. I am seeking approval to fell and/or carry out remedial works to improve the health and safety of the trees, including the removal of the Cherry tree (T6) and the Pine tree (T2), which is heavily overgrown with ivy and in very poor condition. The proposed works to be carried out by a licensed tree surgeon are as follows: Tree 1 - Sweet Chestnut: Remove major deadwood and carry out a 30% crown reduction to suitable growth points. Tree 2 - Pine: Fell to ground level due to poor condition and extensive ivy growth. Tree 3 - Tulip Tree: 30% crown reduction. Tree 4 - Ash Tree: Crown reduction where overhanging the neighbouring property; tree is also showing signs consistent with Ash Dieback. Tree 5 - Hazel Tree: Located at the front of the property near the post box and in proximity to telephone lines; to be coppiced or reduced to a more appropriate size for its location. Tree 6 - Cherry Tree: Fell to ground level. I consider this tree to have limited arboricultural and amenity value due to its size, poor form, and condition.

T1 - Cherry T2 - Lime T3 - Walnut T4 & T5 - Spruce T6 - Cherry T7 - Multi-stemmed Lime T8 - Lime T9 - Walnut T1 - Cherry - reduce and shape by 40% because of excessive shading and decay at the base. T2 - Lime - fell due to excessive shading. Not proposing to replant as want to open up garden for more light. T3 - Walnut - raise crown by 3m to prolong life of tree and to allow more light underneath. T4 & T5 - 2 x Spruce - Remove and replant with hedging plants. T6 - Cherry - fell to prevent damage to barn and allow more light. T7 - Multi-stemmed Lime - fell to allow more light and open up space currently too big for space. T8 - Lime - reduce crown by 30% to allow more light into garden and to prevent interfering with barn. T9 - Walnut - fell, diseased and dying. Remarks:

T1 - Yew T1 - Yew - we would like to prune the Yew tree, cutting a number of branches to take it away from the house and also some at the top to reduce its height. We need to undertake thse works for the following reasons: a) the branches are getting too close to the house. b) the scale of the tree means there is a lack of air around the back of the house and the shading from the tree is damaging our thatch roof. c) the buds from the tree are dropping into the thatch and are also continually blocking our drains. We recognise the tree's qualities but it needs to be maintained and managed. The works will be undertaken by qualified tree specialist and there will be no impact on our neighbours or the conservation area. Remarks:
