Planning application

Mulberry Cottage, Oxford Road, Clifton Hampden, Oxon, OX14 3EW

Decided South Oxfordshire P26/S0683/TCA Works to trees in CA

Works: Trees Small domestic

Read from the description, not a valuation. How we read the register

Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.

Proposal

The Fir tree is a multi-trunked tree, part of which was removed before we took ownership of the property in 2015. Over the years the remaining part of the tree has gradually moved and now leans on the fence which is the boundary to the road, and is in real danger of falling into the road. The tree appears to be dying and we feel it should be removed.

Sycamore We have recently bought Mulberry Cottage. A tree surgeon has advised that the Sycamore tree has sustained fire damage in the past (from a bonfire), is now substantially hollow with considerable bark missing. It is on the boundary of public space and is considered dangerous. His advice is that the tree should be felled. We would hope to replace it with a Mulberry Tree. NB. A power line runs through the branches. Remarks:

Ash (T2 of TPO 09/2019) - Reduce back crown over single storey block D4 by a maximum of 4m at its widest point (work mainly relates to over extended limbs over roof). Reduce back low branches over the roof to create 3m clearance. Cutback branches from front of the adjacent building (D6) to create 2-3m clearance. To help balance the crown, reduce remaining crown by approx. 2m. To avoid altering the balance of the tree as a whole, the crown of the tree should be reduced in proportion to its original shape. All pruning cuts must be made at branch junctions, leaving sufficient live growth to maintain or enhance crown form.
