The tree will require an overall canopy reduction of approximately 2.5m to sub dominant material with pruning wounds being less than 50mm in diameter. The compression union of 2x laterals to the west will require 2.5-3.0m lateral end reduction. Overall structural defects exist in an area of continuous use and will require a minimum of yearly monitoring, so as to understand whether or not long-term retrenchment pruning works will provide sufficient ongoing acceptable levels of safety mitigation as an alternative option to complete removal and replanting.
