    P16/S4621/TCA Submitted 1 Sep 2016 115m away

T1 - Mature Ash 1 x Ash (Mature) - perimeter tree with typical asymmetrical form to west overhanging Church Cottage. Bifurcation at 1.0m with compression fork with partial fusion above this. The tree displays a drawn form competing with a neighbouring Ash to the east. The radial growth to west is excessively elongated and overhangs a household entrance in continuous use. The main stem is of an increment that now is causing damage to the Rectory and Church Cottage wall, mainly lift damage being in a tight location of the garden corner. The Ash is surrounded to the north and east with further mature trees. Whilst remedial works would temporarily mitigate structural weaknesses it is not considered to be aesthetically pleasing or providing a long-term solution. The safe useful life expectancy is considered to be exhausted and the continuous use under the canopy is concerning without investment that is possibly short lived. The surrounding mature trees provide sufficient amenity value to justify removal. On this basis the tree could be justifiably felled. Tree to be dismantled in sections using rigging finally felling at ground level. Remarks:
