T1- horse chestnut- remove deadwood, 3-4 metres cut back of overhanging branches to significant growing point T2- Horse Chestnut- remove deadwood, crown thinning by 20% , 3-4 metre cut back of overhanging branches to significant growing point. Reasons for pruning is to reduce the load on extended branches on both T1 & T2 as T2 has a history of large branch breakage (photo P1 & P2 inserted). Remove deadwood to maintain the health of the trees. (P12). Reduce overhanging branches on garden to allow a marquee to be erected next summer for our wedding a reduce the risk of breakage (P4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and 11). Photos demonstrate what the overhang currently looks like and the suggested areas to cut back, based on advice from a tree surgeon. Crown thinning of 20% of T2 is to 1) improve the safety of a mature, heavily weighted tree in close proximity to residential areas 2) reduce excessive shading as three horse chestnuts in a line are currently imposing (P13). Overview of all works is shown in P13 to equate to 4 pruning cuts (2 on each tree), deadwood removal and crown thinning of T2. The trees are also very large and in close proximity of residential areas so this work should help to prevent unwanted breakage of branches which has the potential to be dangerous and unhealthy for the trees.
