Works: Demolition Windows or glazing Several homes

Read from the description, not a valuation. How we read the register

Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.

Proposal

Non material amendment to P21/S4010/FUL to amend the communal area screening of The Beeches to the Reading Road with the addition of an aesthetically aligned wooden fence of 1.8M that would be installed behind the metal railing and the laurel hedging. The fencing would provide additional security, privacy and acoustic screening to the residents of The Beeches. At the development junction, fencing to be installed so that meets visibility spray requirements for the existing 30mph road speed limit for vehicles exiting The Beeches in order there is appropriate visibility. (As amended by plan received 07 September 2023.) (Variation of conditions 6 (obscure glazing) & 16 (landscaping) on planning application P20/S3942/FUL (Variation of condition 4 (approved plans) on planning application P16/S2861/O (Demolition of existing dwelling and erection of 8 dwellings) and conditions 1 (approved plans) & 5 (landscaping) on planning application P20/S1990/RM (Reserved Matters following outline planning permission P16/S2861/O 1. Appearance of the dwellings, including materials; and 2. Landscaping in the development) - (repositioning of access and Plots 1 & 2) - change wording of conditions due to sectional completion and occupation).

After the decision

South Oxfordshire has decided this application; the outcome above is the register's own wording and the decision notice on the council portal carries the detail. More in our guide to what happens after a planning decision.

About amendment applications

An amendment application makes limited changes to a permission that already exists; anything beyond modest adjustment needs a fresh application. More in our guide to planning application types.

The two mature trees are approximately 30m in height, with substantial lateral branches extending over the driveway and neighbouring garden areas. The trees are located approximately 13 metres from nearby residential properties. Previous branch loss has occurred from the canopy, affecting both the driveway and garden areas. As part of ongoing tree management and maintenance, it is proposed that the following works be undertaken by a qualified arborist. 1) Removal of Dead Wood Removal of dead, damaged and crossing branches throughout the canopy, particularly within the inner crown 2) End Weight Reduction Selective reduction of the outer extremities of larger lateral branches extending over the driveway and garden areas to improve branch balance and reduce leverage on extended limbs 3) Crown Reduction Selective pruning the canopy to reduce weight and hazard while safely preserving the tree shape, and thereby reducing the wind sail effect 4) Inspection of previous storm damage. Inspection and, where necessary, pruning of areas affected by previous branch loss and historic storm damage to maintain the long-term condition and management of the trees
