Proposal

Western Red Cedar (T1) - Remove x 2 lower boughs that rub up close to fabric of building contributing to dampness of wall and extensive shade. Gutters constantly overflow as needle frequently fill . Footpath due to damp and moss a continuous slip hazard for ALL residents. The proposed works to removal of just 2 boughs will ameliorate all the above concerns/problems without detriment to the shape, size and aesthetic look of this vergeside tree. The two wounds will be greater in size than normally BS3998(2010) but it will only be two wounds compared to many smaller wounds if an all round crown reduction was to be undertaken. The overall look of the tree will remain of a very natural appearance and the greater gain from 2 wounds over many will be of benefit to the tree. The species Thuja ( western Red Cedar ) is a tree with Hugh resilience and that rejuvenates from pruning wounds much faster than other species of conifer
