I have honey fungus in the garden and have already lost plants. Currently there are 3 trees which are all showing signs of ill health and which showed the fruiting bodies of honey fungus at there bases this autumn which I would like to remove and dig out their roots. 1. Thugia this had 4 trunks. One trunk was clearly wobbly and as it is on the road edge of the property I had it cut down as soon as I realised, the other 3 are still standing but the leaves have now all turned brown. 2. Cotoneaster. This is also multi stemmed and each trunk has died in turn, there is now only one trunk that has any life. 3. Judas Tree. This is on old tree and has some life still but when the honey fungus fruiting bodies appeared at its base I think it needs to come out and dig out the roots in order to try and save the nearby Magnolia and Beech trees.
