Decided South Oxfordshire P21/S0442/TCA Works to trees in CA

Works: Trees Small domestic

Read from the description, not a valuation. How we read the register

Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.

Proposal

T1 - Tulip - located on island to be felled to ground level, poorly pruned in the past, replace with another tree. T2 - Cedar - located in paddock to remove to top 8-10ft of dead upper canopy. T3 - Cherry - located by fence and lane entrance to be sectionally felled to ground level. T4 - Ash - located by moat and second entrance to be felled to ground level. Becoming too large for and leaning away from moat worry about damming the bank. T5 - Elm - located by side of moat to be felled to ground level. T6 - Poplar - that leans over moat, to be felled to ground level, client wants more light into this area, tree leaning completely over the moat, worried about damaging the bank.

T1 Horse Chestnut Twin stemmed from 4 metres Stem overhanging the drive has had a large limb fail due to a poor branch attachment with some decaying material present. The wound has revealed further decay of the stem from where it came. The growth above this wound is significant and very likely to fail at some point but is likely to be extremely vulnerable during weather events as we move into the Autumn / Winter period. We recommend reducing this stem to sound the wood below the damaged and decayed area, and reduce the remainder of tree to the same height by approximately 8 metres.
