Proposal

1x Lime, ancient. potentially the signature tree of Checkendon Court. The tree is displaying significant retrenchment in the south east which is a result compromised vascular function. This would appear to be caused by abrasions, cambium damage and scaring. Possibly the result of lighting damage. The exposed cambium and its incipient degradation also will potentially cause some structural issues (much like the Lawson cypress as the damage see photo is and an important compression /tension point of the trees supporting stems above. A. Carry out retrenchment pruning reducing entire canopy by 2.5 m pruning to secondary growth. Remove major deadwood unless the retention /stabilisation is desired for ecology. This will help the overall weakened structure (note large habitat holes) as there is some vulnerability to breakages and crown breakage issues.
