Decided South Oxfordshire P17/S4694/TCA Works to trees in CA

Works: Trees

Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.

Proposal

Unknown species We propose works to clear the vegetation and lower branches to the tree located on the verge of the Highway. There is mixture of lower branches to the tree and undergrowth that requires clearing. the majority of the vegetation is undergrowth and bush vegetation which blocks visibility of the highway. The tree requires crown lifting and lower branches removed to increase the clearance between the ground and the crown to comply with a minimum of 5.2m height to comply with safe passage of high sided vehicles as well as being cut back sufficiently from the edge of the road to allow clearance for wing mirrors and low branches obstructing visibility of the road. The main trunk of the tree will not be touched and this work should not cause any risk of death of the tree. The main work rquired is branches to the lower sections where the diameter is less than 7.5cm albeit we haven't measured each piece of vegetation. An arborist (tree surgeon) is inspecting the site on Thursday 29 June and will prepare a report. Steve Collini of Keyston Tree Services (01832 730587). The best way to understand the extent of the works required, which are minimal in our view, is to see the attached photos. We request that these works are immediately authorised, as in the near future visibility along the highway will become impaired. This matter is therefore urgent. Remarks:
