    Diseased Lime tree standing to the front boundary of Balmaha identified as T8 in the web comment dated 4 July 2017 to planning application P17/S1085/FUL - 4 by Forestry Officer MDG (SODC) and identified on attached plan "Tree T8 Location and Replacement Trees Location and Specification 1".Tree T8 is a common Lime Tree and subject to a TPO. However, T8 is colonised by the decay causing fungi Ganoderma applanatum and following a resistograph test and investigation by arbor specialists Gristwood & Toms and inspection by SODC and OCC Tree Officers it has been concluded that T8 has a limited safe remaining life expectancy and should be felled. This work will be carried out by specialist firm Foremost Tree Surgeons and all necessary permits and licences will be obtained prior to works being carried out to the tree T8. Once dismantled, the T8 stump will be ground down and all debris branches and shavings will be removed from site by the contractor and the site left clean safe and tidy. 2 no. replacement trees Common Lime will be hand planted in the positions marked on Plans 'Tree 8 Location and Replacement Trees Location & Specification 1' and 'Replacement Trees Location 2'. The size of the replacement Common Lime are to be confirmed by the Tree Officer and to be either standards girth 12-14 cm or heavy standards girth 16-18 cm. The replacement trees will be hand dug and planted to with a slow release fertilizer and well watered in and the root balls secured using Platipus rootball fixing system Plat-Mat RF1P. The root balls will be fitted with GreenBlue RootRain Urban RRURB1A irrigation systems and the applicant undertakes to ensure that both trees are kept sufficiently watered during the first two spring/summer seasons from the date of planting. Thereafter it will be the responsibility of OCC Highways to maintain the new trees. The applicant requests that the Tree Officer mark the position for the 2nd replacement tree on the attached plan "Replacement Trees Location 2". G4 44 Lime, 1 Ash Spec: S16 Fell tree to ground level and grind stump. Spec: S20 3x Tilia cordata 12-14 cm girth (heavy standard)
