About householder applications
How this application type works
Householder applications cover work to an existing house and its garden: extensions, loft and garage conversions, porches, outbuildings and similar alterations within the boundary of the home. They cannot be used to create a separate dwelling or change what the building is used for. Councils aim to decide them within eight weeks, and immediate neighbours are usually notified and given a chance to comment.

Yew tree hedge Yew tree hedge which forms the boundary between St Andrews Church and The Old Stables located immediately behind The Old Stables. These trees were once a managed hedge but have been allowed to grow unmaintained for a number of years. They form the boundary between the two properties but are now causing obstruction to the rear windows of The Old Stables and creating significant moss and debris to the roof and guttering. We have sought the advice of an arborist and together with the Church we have all agreed that we would like to carry out the recommended works as soon as possible (October is the recommended month). The recommonded works are as follows: 1. To reduce the height of the hedge by no more than half 2. To reduce and even out the rear face of the hedge (that side that is currently touching The Old Stables). 3. To regularly maintain thereafter as a managed hedge. Remarks:
