Planning application

Wells Farm Cottage, Haseley Road, Little Milton, Oxon, OX44 7PP

Decided South Oxfordshire P16/S4745/TCA Works to trees in CA

Works: Trees

Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.

Proposal

T1 - Sycamore T2 - Judas T3 - Silver Maple T4 - Maple T1 - Sycamore - remove main stem that inclines over garden and toward cottage to reduce the size and spread of the tree. The tree is overly dominant on the garden and cottage and the work is to allow more light to the property and a feeling of space in the garden. T2 - Judas tree - Remove one limb that extends below the crown of T1. This limb grows away from the main part of the crown and gives the tree a very irregular shape which will be more apparent when the work on T1 is carried out. T3 - Silver Maple - crown reduce by 20% to reduce the height by 1.5m and the radial spread by up to 1 metre. T4 - Maple - crown reduce also by 20% to reduce the height by 1.5m and the radial spread by circa. 1 metre. Work on T3 and T4 is purely to allow more light into the gardens on both sides. Remarks:

About trees applications

How this application type works

Tree applications cover work to protected trees: those under a tree preservation order need consent for pruning or felling, and trees in a conservation area need six weeks written notice before work starts. The council assesses the amenity value of the tree and can refuse consent, approve it with conditions, or in conservation areas make a preservation order in response.
