The Chine, Gallowstree Common
I would like to have the tree examined with a view to carrying out the following works. Tree 1 as attached sketch. 1. Thin out crown and remove dead wood. 2. Attend to (ie. remove) a crossing branch which overhangs my neighbours drive. 3. Remove epicormic growth from trunk etc. Similar work was carried out in 2004 and it seems that it needs to be looked at again as once again, there are some dead sections and the one particular crossing branch which could be particularly hazardous if it were to break and fall as it is directly over my neighbours drive. I want to make sure the tree stays healthy (whilst also reducing the shading a little) and avoid any problems developing. Please see photos attached of the missing branch and excess epicormic growth. T1: Birch: Twin stemmed Birch with a crown break a couple of feet above ground level. This tree has had cobra bracing installed and has previously had a crown reduction undertaken due to the applicants concerns over its safety with its close proximity to their own and neighbouring properties and the high volume of pedestrians who walk past the house particularly during the school pick up and drop off timings. The applicant wishes to reduce the height of the tree by 4 metres, to a point just above the previous pruning points and the lateral branches by up to 1 metre. T2, T3 and T4: Birch: Applicant wishes to carry out a 2m crown reduction of all 3 trees. These trees were planted by the applicant on the basis that they would be maintained as small trees owing to the size of space in this area of the garden and the proximity of buildings.

P26/S3994/TCA Decided
7 Vicarage Road Henley-on-thames RG9 1HF
There are two trees in the front garden Permission is requested to fell both trees. Tree 1 = Weeping Birch Tree Tree 2 = Maple Tree Weeping Birch (Tree 1) This has become too large for the site, the roots are lifting the paving around it, making it a trip hazard. Roots have also entered the nearby drains, causing problems. Permission is sought to fell the tree, to make safe access to the property and to make space on the driveway for off street parking. (There is a nearby primary school, and parking can be a challenge.) Maple (Tree 2) This tree has also become too big for its location, which is very close to the boundary of No. 5 and No. 7 Vicarage Rd, causing lifting of the paving around it. It is also very close to both houses. Permission is sought to fell this tree.
