T4 - Hornbeam - Fell. T5 - Ash - Reduce main stem to leave a 4.0m monolith to maintain ecological habitat status (significant entry points exist currently to the east). G6 - Hornbeam hedge - Thin out 2 x of the most suppressed Hornbeams to allow improved future development of remaining 4 x trees achieving better long term form. Mission Statement/objectives - The dwelling currently enjoys extensive lawns to the south dominated by 2 x mature Lawson Cypress trees and two further groups of 2 x Lawson Cypress aurium standing at 9m in height. These trees have been planted in a formal symmetrical pattern aligning steps to a patio x 2 with two further groups symmetrically further south. See photos. Overall, the garden enjoys a significant tee scape particularly on boundaries, with good viable amenity trees and long term potential. The aforementioned Lawson Cypress are currently protected by an individual TPO and a group TPO (relevant to site: 04S32 placed in 2004). The trees have grown freely without maintenance for ten years since the TPO was placed. Tree planting design proposal - Lawson Cypress displays a relatively rapid growth and subsequently, the two individual trees and two groups are now over dominant, obscuring views and creating shade. It is felt that maintenance to these trees would have limited success or aesthetic value and it is proposed that a new superior tree planting scheme be introduced to: provide a wider variety of diverse tree species, show a significant inclusion of native tree species, introduce a further extended quantity of trees, provide trees with more long term amenity value, provide trees that harmonise with the surroundings more appropriately, introduce form, foliage, texture, colour and branch tracery. The proposed arboricultural scheme provides a level of density that helps camouflage and filter houses from Rotherfield Greys from acros the valley, taking into consideration the amenity tree scape and current development at the edge of Henley on Thames. Proposed species - 1 x Tilia tomentosa petiolaris (Weeping Silver Lime), 6 x Pingus sylvestris (Scots Pine), 6 x Fagus sylvatica Dawyck (Fastigiated Beech), 2 x Pinus nigra Austriaca (Austrian Pine), 6 x Betula albosinencis Fasciniation (Chinese Birch). The proposed species are suitable for the chalked based loamy soils on the side of the valley. All trees will be staked with two horizontal and a vertical cross rail and underground aeration pipes and mulch circles to prevent water evaporation and suppress weeds. A three year aftercare programme will be carried out to assist each tree from planting to independence with any failures or damaged trees being replaced. This is a strict requirement and has been agreed as part of the project with the property owner. Tree removal to facilitate new planting project: T1 - Lawson Cypress aureum T2 - Lawson Cypress aureum T3a & b - Lawson Cypress T4a & b - Lawson Cypress Order of operations: With the hopeful approval from SODC forestry department trees would be felled late Sept/early October with the new scheme being planted Nov/Dec 2014.

T1 - Copper Beech - Reduce branches by approximately 2 metres focusing mainly on lateral branches rather than the top. Lift canopy to provide statutory clearance over the road and clear from service cables. T2 - Tulip Tree - Reduce by approximately 3 metres to restore balance within the crown due to previous limb failure leaving the tree unbalanced. T3 - Horse Chestnut - Reduce by approximately 3 to 4 metres, leaving a natural flowing crown outline and remove major deadwood. T4 - To fell and remove 1 x Yew tree and install eco plugs to prevent re-growth.

T1 Copper Beech. Low canopy over road and footpath. To raise canopy to statutory clearances, (5.2m over road, 2.5m over footpath). To remove deadwood greater than 60mm over road and footpath, for safety purposes, minimising any chance for larger falling deadwood in windy conditions.

Ash (T2 of TPO 09/2019) - Reduce back crown over single storey block D4 by a maximum of 4m at its widest point (work mainly relates to over extended limbs over roof). Reduce back low branches over the roof to create 3m clearance. Cutback branches from front of the adjacent building (D6) to create 2-3m clearance. To help balance the crown, reduce remaining crown by approx. 2m. To avoid altering the balance of the tree as a whole, the crown of the tree should be reduced in proportion to its original shape. All pruning cuts must be made at branch junctions, leaving sufficient live growth to maintain or enhance crown form.
