1 St Johns Row, Long Wittenham, Oxon, OX14 4QG

Decided South Oxfordshire P14/S4382/TCA Works to trees in CA

Works: Trees Small domestic

Read from the description, not a valuation. How we read the register

Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.

Proposal

T1 - Conifer T2 - Sycamore T3 - Eucalyptus T4 - Sycamore T5 - Ash T1 - Conifer - fell as low amenity value and shading future vegetable plot. T2 - Sycamore - fell 2 of 3 close together trunks as trees growing un-even, are over powering garden and one trunk damaged by old fence. Remaining trunk will grow to a more even tree. T3 - Dead Eucalyptus - fell as dead! T4 - Sycamore - fell one of two close together trunks. This to promote more even growth and provide more light to garden whilst retaining tree. T5 - Ash - fell as is growing to close to Sycamores and house. Tree is in poor shape and cannot compete with adjacent Sycamore that is to be retained. Remarks:

T1 - Copper Beech - Reduce branches by approximately 2 metres focusing mainly on lateral branches rather than the top. Lift canopy to provide statutory clearance over the road and clear from service cables. T2 - Tulip Tree - Reduce by approximately 3 metres to restore balance within the crown due to previous limb failure leaving the tree unbalanced. T3 - Horse Chestnut - Reduce by approximately 3 to 4 metres, leaving a natural flowing crown outline and remove major deadwood. T4 - To fell and remove 1 x Yew tree and install eco plugs to prevent re-growth.

T1 Copper Beech. Low canopy over road and footpath. To raise canopy to statutory clearances, (5.2m over road, 2.5m over footpath). To remove deadwood greater than 60mm over road and footpath, for safety purposes, minimising any chance for larger falling deadwood in windy conditions.

Ash (T2 of TPO 09/2019) - Reduce back crown over single storey block D4 by a maximum of 4m at its widest point (work mainly relates to over extended limbs over roof). Reduce back low branches over the roof to create 3m clearance. Cutback branches from front of the adjacent building (D6) to create 2-3m clearance. To help balance the crown, reduce remaining crown by approx. 2m. To avoid altering the balance of the tree as a whole, the crown of the tree should be reduced in proportion to its original shape. All pruning cuts must be made at branch junctions, leaving sufficient live growth to maintain or enhance crown form.
