Proposal
T1 - Mature Sycamore Removal of mature Sycamore in our front drive. Although I am of the opinion that a mature tree of whatever species has a role to play in enhancing and contributing to a street scene, particularly so in a conservation area, I am putting in my application to you because there is a mature beech tree 2 metres behind the sycamore and therefore its removal should not have a detrimental effect on the area. I feel that without the sycamore, the beech will be able to grow well and be a long living specimen adding to the conservation area for decades to come. I am also concerned that the sycamore is leaning towards the house and that there is a rotten area where there used to be a large branch. Obviously I am not in a position to assess the last two points, but feel that the removal of one of the two mature trees is reasonable long term management of the area. We are extremely keen to enhance and maintain the character of the conservation area particularly following the removal of a signficant number of trees adjacent to our property resulting in the loss of the verdent nature of the site. Indeed we have already planted smaller trees such as hawthorn and also a pine and a beech further along the drive, the latter to tie in with the mature beech by the road. I hope you will see this request as a considered request with an aim to further enhance the area. Remarks:

T1 - Copper Beech - Reduce branches by approximately 2 metres focusing mainly on lateral branches rather than the top. Lift canopy to provide statutory clearance over the road and clear from service cables. T2 - Tulip Tree - Reduce by approximately 3 metres to restore balance within the crown due to previous limb failure leaving the tree unbalanced. T3 - Horse Chestnut - Reduce by approximately 3 to 4 metres, leaving a natural flowing crown outline and remove major deadwood. T4 - To fell and remove 1 x Yew tree and install eco plugs to prevent re-growth.

T1 Copper Beech. Low canopy over road and footpath. To raise canopy to statutory clearances, (5.2m over road, 2.5m over footpath). To remove deadwood greater than 60mm over road and footpath, for safety purposes, minimising any chance for larger falling deadwood in windy conditions.

Ash (T2 of TPO 09/2019) - Reduce back crown over single storey block D4 by a maximum of 4m at its widest point (work mainly relates to over extended limbs over roof). Reduce back low branches over the roof to create 3m clearance. Cutback branches from front of the adjacent building (D6) to create 2-3m clearance. To help balance the crown, reduce remaining crown by approx. 2m. To avoid altering the balance of the tree as a whole, the crown of the tree should be reduced in proportion to its original shape. All pruning cuts must be made at branch junctions, leaving sufficient live growth to maintain or enhance crown form.
