Proposal
Sycamore x 5 (G1) Sycamore (T1) Ash (T2) Sycamore (T3) Ash x 2, Acer x 1 (G2) Ash (T4) Ash x 3 (G3) Holm Oak (T5) G1 - Sycamore x 5 - Recommended Works: Dismantle in sections in order to fell to ground level the smallest of the 5 stems which is growing immediately adjacent to the boundary fence. See Photo 1. Reduce lateral growth of the stem immediately adjacent to the smallest stem to alleviate conflict with the ash tree in the neighbouring property. Inspect wound on largest stem, implementing a decay detection test (Resistograph) to ascertain extent of decay and report findings. Remove any deadwood >50mm dia. and broken, hanging branches. There is potential for some new planting in this area to increase age and species diversity and sustainability. Suggest 4 trees comprising beech x 2 and wild cherry x 2. Suggested size: heavy standard i.e. 12-14cm girth, 3.6-4.25m high. T1 - Sycamore - Recommended works: Dismantle in sections in order to mitigate any hazard. Retain sections of main stem to reflect the treatment applied to neighbouring sycamore (E). Final height should be at least 2m different to the sycamore (higher or lower) to provide a more natural appearance. Apply 'coronation cuts' to top of stem to imitate storm damage. There is also potential for some new planting in this area to increae age and species diversity and sustainability. Suggest 2 trees comprising field maple x 1 and English oak x 1. Suggested size: heavy standard i.e 12-14cm girth, 3.6-4.25m high. T2 - Ash - Recommended works: Remove major deadwood (>50mm dia) from canopy. T3 - Sycamore - Recommended works: Remove major deadwood (>50mm dia). Monitor annually. Ash x 2, Acer x 1 (G2) - Recommended works: Remove major deadwood >50mm dia. fron all three trees. Thin canopy of sycamore by 15%. Monitor wounds annually. T4 - Ash - Recommended works: Remove all deadwood from canopy. Reduce canopy by approximately 2.0m on the western aspect to reduce wind susceptibility and improve form. Ash x 3 (G3) - Recommended works: No works required, inspect bi-annually. Holm Oak (T5) - Remove hanger. Remarks:

T1 - Copper Beech - Reduce branches by approximately 2 metres focusing mainly on lateral branches rather than the top. Lift canopy to provide statutory clearance over the road and clear from service cables. T2 - Tulip Tree - Reduce by approximately 3 metres to restore balance within the crown due to previous limb failure leaving the tree unbalanced. T3 - Horse Chestnut - Reduce by approximately 3 to 4 metres, leaving a natural flowing crown outline and remove major deadwood. T4 - To fell and remove 1 x Yew tree and install eco plugs to prevent re-growth.

T1 Copper Beech. Low canopy over road and footpath. To raise canopy to statutory clearances, (5.2m over road, 2.5m over footpath). To remove deadwood greater than 60mm over road and footpath, for safety purposes, minimising any chance for larger falling deadwood in windy conditions.

Ash (T2 of TPO 09/2019) - Reduce back crown over single storey block D4 by a maximum of 4m at its widest point (work mainly relates to over extended limbs over roof). Reduce back low branches over the roof to create 3m clearance. Cutback branches from front of the adjacent building (D6) to create 2-3m clearance. To help balance the crown, reduce remaining crown by approx. 2m. To avoid altering the balance of the tree as a whole, the crown of the tree should be reduced in proportion to its original shape. All pruning cuts must be made at branch junctions, leaving sufficient live growth to maintain or enhance crown form.
