Proposal
T1 - Yew T2 - Yew T3 - Yew T4 - Yew T5 - Copper Beech T6 - Yew T7 - Yew T8 - Yew T9 - Sweet Chestnut T1 - Yew - large tree with a split at the foot (below ground). The north part of the tree is pressing on the curving brick wall which is a historical feature of the entrance to Manor Road. The wall has already been damaged and repaired in the past, but looks like it will soon be pushed over again. The south part of the tree is interfering with the telegraph lines to our house and other residences in Whitchurch House. I propose to have the north part of the tree cut down to ground level. I propose to have the south part cut back to give good clearance from the telephone lines, and crown reduce 20% of the remainder of the tree, i.e. reduce its height a little. T2 - Yew - large tree with a split trunk about 1.5 metres above ground into two parts. The north part is pressing on the wooden boundary fence, and has pushed it out of line, the trunk prevents the fence from being repaired. I propose to have this north part of the tree cut down as low as possible, to where it splits from the south part, i.e. about 1.5 metres above ground. I propose to crown reduce by 20% the south part of this tree i.e. reduce its height a little. T3 & T4 - Yews - Medium sized trees, rather shapeless, covered in ivy. Hang over Manor Road, and interfere with traffic and lighting. I propose to have them both cut down to 3 metres in height, and remove ivy. Being Yew trees, they should re-sprout from the trunk, making them bushy. With reduced height, they will be easier to maintain and with care will form a neat, solid cylindrical shape. T5 - Copper Beech - Large tree. To improve light, I propose a 15% crown trim. T6, T7 & T8 - Yews - Medium sized trees. Interfere with traffic and lighting on Manor Road. Reduce rainfall and dry out the ground so that it's almost impossible to grow anything underneath. I propose to have them cut down to 3 metres in height. Being Yew trees, they should re-sprout from the trunk. With reduced height they will be easier to maintain and with regular trimming they should form tight, formal-looking cylindrical shapes. T9 - Sweet Chestnut - Very large tree. In 2013 a significant branch fell during light winds, with a tickness of about 30cm at the point that it broke. Other minor parts of the tree this year look dead. The tree is above our garden where children play so it looks a little hazardous. I propose to have the tree inspected for dead or unhealthy branches and have them removed. In addition I propose to do a 15% crown trim to improve light. Remarks:

T1 - Copper Beech - Reduce branches by approximately 2 metres focusing mainly on lateral branches rather than the top. Lift canopy to provide statutory clearance over the road and clear from service cables. T2 - Tulip Tree - Reduce by approximately 3 metres to restore balance within the crown due to previous limb failure leaving the tree unbalanced. T3 - Horse Chestnut - Reduce by approximately 3 to 4 metres, leaving a natural flowing crown outline and remove major deadwood. T4 - To fell and remove 1 x Yew tree and install eco plugs to prevent re-growth.

T1 Copper Beech. Low canopy over road and footpath. To raise canopy to statutory clearances, (5.2m over road, 2.5m over footpath). To remove deadwood greater than 60mm over road and footpath, for safety purposes, minimising any chance for larger falling deadwood in windy conditions.

Ash (T2 of TPO 09/2019) - Reduce back crown over single storey block D4 by a maximum of 4m at its widest point (work mainly relates to over extended limbs over roof). Reduce back low branches over the roof to create 3m clearance. Cutback branches from front of the adjacent building (D6) to create 2-3m clearance. To help balance the crown, reduce remaining crown by approx. 2m. To avoid altering the balance of the tree as a whole, the crown of the tree should be reduced in proportion to its original shape. All pruning cuts must be made at branch junctions, leaving sufficient live growth to maintain or enhance crown form.
