Mulberry Court, Crown Road, Wheatley, Oxford, OX33 1UL

Decided South Oxfordshire P14/S4242/TCA Works to trees in CA

Works: Trees

Decided. The decision notice on the council portal carries the outcome in full, including any conditions.

Proposal

G1 - Limes x 8 G1 Limes x 8 at end of row, previously topped at 3 to 4 metres from ground level now with extensive reactive growth supported on potentially weak points of attachment. Crown lift to 7m approx overhanging sections of lower crown, by cutting back to boundary line (centre line of wall) limbs and adventitious growths. Reduce by upper crowns by up to 1.5 metres approx apical and lateral growth to suitable secondary sub laterals (10%) to contain crowns and reduce sail area and the corresponding windage on potentially weak primary points of attachment, remove major dead wood over 2.5 cm diameter. T1 - Copper Beech - Reduce branches by approximately 2 metres focusing mainly on lateral branches rather than the top. Lift canopy to provide statutory clearance over the road and clear from service cables. T2 - Tulip Tree - Reduce by approximately 3 metres to restore balance within the crown due to previous limb failure leaving the tree unbalanced. T3 - Horse Chestnut - Reduce by approximately 3 to 4 metres, leaving a natural flowing crown outline and remove major deadwood. T4 - To fell and remove 1 x Yew tree and install eco plugs to prevent re-growth.

T1 Copper Beech. Low canopy over road and footpath. To raise canopy to statutory clearances, (5.2m over road, 2.5m over footpath). To remove deadwood greater than 60mm over road and footpath, for safety purposes, minimising any chance for larger falling deadwood in windy conditions.

Ash (T2 of TPO 09/2019) - Reduce back crown over single storey block D4 by a maximum of 4m at its widest point (work mainly relates to over extended limbs over roof). Reduce back low branches over the roof to create 3m clearance. Cutback branches from front of the adjacent building (D6) to create 2-3m clearance. To help balance the crown, reduce remaining crown by approx. 2m. To avoid altering the balance of the tree as a whole, the crown of the tree should be reduced in proportion to its original shape. All pruning cuts must be made at branch junctions, leaving sufficient live growth to maintain or enhance crown form.
