1 x Cherry 3B 1 x Ash 2 1 x Goat Willow 5 Coppicing/Pollarding the large Ash - 2. It is quite an old tree which has clearly been in the hedgerow for many years so should be retained; but it is much too large for its site imposing on the footway, adjoining house and the gardens themselves. Ash responds well to coppicing and pollarding, so should send up a number of new shoots which could be easily managed in the future. I have spoken to the owner of the adjoining house, which would be seriously impacted, and she has expressed strong support. Removing one of the pair of Cherries - 3B. There is a concern about its health given the bark damage and its removal, along with the coppicing of the Ash (2), would give the other Cherry 3A the opportunity to develop into a fine tree without the competition for light as well as opening up the centre of the site somewhat. Re-coppice the Goat Willow - 5. The straggly stems are conflicting with the adjoining Cherries and cannot be regarded as attractive. However the stump represents an important habitat and, I would suggest, is a thing of considerable beauty and interest. Remarks:

T1 - Copper Beech - Reduce branches by approximately 2 metres focusing mainly on lateral branches rather than the top. Lift canopy to provide statutory clearance over the road and clear from service cables. T2 - Tulip Tree - Reduce by approximately 3 metres to restore balance within the crown due to previous limb failure leaving the tree unbalanced. T3 - Horse Chestnut - Reduce by approximately 3 to 4 metres, leaving a natural flowing crown outline and remove major deadwood. T4 - To fell and remove 1 x Yew tree and install eco plugs to prevent re-growth.

T1 Copper Beech. Low canopy over road and footpath. To raise canopy to statutory clearances, (5.2m over road, 2.5m over footpath). To remove deadwood greater than 60mm over road and footpath, for safety purposes, minimising any chance for larger falling deadwood in windy conditions.

Ash (T2 of TPO 09/2019) - Reduce back crown over single storey block D4 by a maximum of 4m at its widest point (work mainly relates to over extended limbs over roof). Reduce back low branches over the roof to create 3m clearance. Cutback branches from front of the adjacent building (D6) to create 2-3m clearance. To help balance the crown, reduce remaining crown by approx. 2m. To avoid altering the balance of the tree as a whole, the crown of the tree should be reduced in proportion to its original shape. All pruning cuts must be made at branch junctions, leaving sufficient live growth to maintain or enhance crown form.
