Proposal
URGENT 5-DAY NOTICE - CHANGE OF WORK - 26/0615/TTCA (Original Application) Following Jordan's recent revisit to inspect the Horse Chestnut, he has identified a significant deterioration in the tree's condition since the original 5-day notice was submitted. There is now extensive fungal activity present, with fruiting bodies visible in multiple locations around the main stem, together with further bark loss and signs of advanced decay. Given these findings, Jordan's professional opinion is that the tree has become increasingly compromised and that the previously proposed works are no longer the most appropriate course of action. In the interests of safety and good tree management, we now recommend reducing the tree to a monolith rather than carrying out the previously specified reduction works. This will retain the standing habitat value of the tree whilst significantly reducing the risk posed by further structural failure. We wanted to make you aware of this change before proceeding and would be happy to discuss it further if you have any questions. I have also attached an image to show our findings today. Please could you amend our 5 day application consent to reflect this work. We have emailed this information to the consent notice given but not received a reply and we are due to go and complete the work tomorrow and Wednesday so this is now very urgent. We tried to call to speak to a tree officer but was advised to email this information.

5-DAY NOTICE T1 Horse Chestnut - Inspect the principal union where three large stems originate from the same bifurcation point. There is evidence of decay within this union, and the recent failure of one substantial stem has left the two remaining stems in a potentially compromised condition. With the aim of improving the tree's safety and stability, remove the large stem forming the left-hand bifurcation at the principal union and reduce the remaining canopy by approximately 2/3 metres to suitable growth points to reduce wind sail effect and lessen the load on the remaining canopy. Clear site and remove all arisings and waste from site.

Holm oak tree - crown reduce the tree back to the previous pruning points, removing approximately 2 metres of regrowth. (reduction is intended to manage the size and weight, particularly in view of the large cavities present within the tree and the existing cable brace supporting the two major stems)
