Sawston Greenway Cambridgeshire

Awaiting decision South Cambridgeshire 26/03288/SCRE EIA Screening Opinion

Still open. Anyone can comment while the consultation period runs, and comments go to the council rather than to us.

Proposal

EIA Screening Opinion under the Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2017 for a new non-motorised shared use path (also referred to as a Greenway) for use by cyclists, pedestrians and where possible horse-riders, linking Sawston to Cambridge city centre, via the villages of Great Shelford and Stapleford. From north to south, the Greenway would begin in Cambridge at the intersection between Long Road (A1134) and Robinson Way on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus (CBC), extending along Robinson Way and then following Francis Crick Avenue south to join the Genome Path. The route would then follow the Genome Path until linking into the village of Great Shelford at Charston Road and passing behind Shelford train station. Exiting Great Shelford, the route goes south-east through Stapleford village connecting to London Road (A1301).
