Planning application

26/01410/HFUL

15 High Street Great Shelford Cambridgeshire CB22 5EH

Granted South Cambridgeshire Householder Works/Extension

Proposal

Removal of existing exterior render/paintwork to front of property and to the stairway access to first floor annex to rear. Where the material remains sound, the current material would be retained and rendered over, to avoid risk of damage to underlying brickwork. Retention of existing external finish to remaining elevations and repainting or over-rendering with a skim coat. Installation of external lighting to front elevation. Repair work to existing sash windows to address water damage. Combination of repainting of render or use of a coloured render to a sympathetic and appropriate shade, with appropriate complimentary colour choice to repaint windows and front door.

What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About householder applications

How this application type works

Householder applications cover work to an existing house and its garden: extensions, loft and garage conversions, porches, outbuildings and similar alterations within the boundary of the home. They cannot be used to create a separate dwelling or change what the building is used for. Councils aim to decide them within eight weeks, and immediate neighbours are usually notified and given a chance to comment.
