Tree 1 (Horse Chestnut) - Fell. Substantial fungal fruiting bodies of Kretzschmaria deusta wood decay fungus at base of trunk on south side (aggressive pathogen causing embrittlement of wood). Tree leaning east over adjoining gardens. Tree at significant risk of falling without further warning (see photograph). Tree 2 (Wellingtonia) - Reduce laterals overhanging house roof by 2 metres and remove lowest three sub-branches from underside of low south-western lateral overhanging the road at Vicarage Close (photograph shows positions of cuts) and crown clean to remove stubs and hanging-up branches. Tree has long-term and very recent history of spontaneous shedding of large, heavy branches and has recently caused significant damage to the house roof.
