T 413 - Corsican Pine - Dismantle and fell. This tree is leaning heavily towards the house and could cause significant damage to two buildings if it uprooted. This tree was assessed by a qualified arboriculturist using the QTRA methodology of tree risk assessment and it was calculated to have a risk of harm in the region of 1/30,000 per annum. The crown of the tree could be reduced but that would adversely impact the appearance of the tree. Another problem with that approach is that the tree would have a similar risk of harm if assessed after the crown reduction. In the light of these considerations, I think that the best form of action is to fell the tree. The remaining trees are less of a risk to the house and removing this tree will reduce competition for the others in the vicinity, and so in the long-term the adjacent trees will benefit from the removal of this particular tree.
