Ridlington Playing Field Top Road Ridlington Rutland

Granted Rutland 2022/1364/CAT Works to a tree in a Conservation Area

Works: Trees

Permission granted. Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses.

Proposal

The Playing field has a number of ash trees (25 in total) within its perimeter boundaries which front onto farmland, a public bridle way and Top Road, Ridlington. These trees vary in height and age. A recent inspection by an idependent tree surgeon has identified a significant presence of ash die back disease and from a public safety aspect the Trustees wish now to fell the worst affected trees (up to 8) and pollard the remainder. These ash trees are identified on the attached plan of the playing field. None of these trees are the subject of TPOs. The trees in question form part of the dense boundary hedging of mostly the West side of the Playing Field with other trees of sycamore, silver birch, hornbeam and beech.
