6 THE GARDENS, CHURCH WALK, BILTON, RUGBY, CV22 7LX
On or near the N-E boundary of our property, there is one holly tree which belongs to us. This tree is very overgrown and we wish to have it trimmed back 2 metres horizontally and 3 metres vertically, as it encroaches on the usable part of our garden and the light available. This holly tree which belongs to us was described as dangerous (without us asking) by a neighbour's tree surgeon, who is now out of business. The latter neighbours , whom I have consulted about it, and they have no objection to the part overhanging their garden being trimmed 2 metres horizontally. We have also been advised by our tree surgeon to request that the canopy of this holly be raised, and we ask for this to be allowed at 3 metres. Nearby are three holly trees overhanging from the garden of . These trees are encroaching on the usable space in our garden and blocking light. I have consulted the owners, who would have no objection to them being trimmed back horizontally about 2 metres to the boundary, and about 3 metres vertically. There are two very large ash trees on our property which have become very overgrown and have shed some quite heavy branches in the last two years. At the moment we cannot allow visitors in the vicinity of these two trees, such is the perceived danger of unpredictable falling debris. Our tree surgeon, Darren from Bright Brothers, has suggested that we ask to be allowed to crown lift these two ash trees (we would estimate about 3 metres) to let the light in, and to crown thin these two ash trees (we would suggest by 20%), and for dead wood overall to be removed to stop falling debris. There is also a very large and probably ancient yew tree belonging to The Old Stables which is growing on a slant towards our property and its foliage covers a substantial part of our garden. We would like to trim back the overhang by two metres horizontally and 3 metres vertically.. Again, I have checked with the owner (Mr & Mrs Harding whose details are above) that they have no objection to our trimming it back to the extent requested to improve light and to restore to us the use of this part of our garden. Overall, none of the proposed work would affect the visual impact on any neighbours of the substantial woodland to the N-E of our property, but would allow us to regain fuller use of our garden, and to have more light and avoid the fear of falling debris.

Beech tree No 45 G5 After speaking to an arborist, they have suggested that the tree needs a crown lift and crown reduction to reduce the spread over the garden by around 1.5 metres. The reason for this is that the tree is covering a fifth of our garden, it is blocking out light so nothing is growing and large dead branches have fallen in our garden and this is dangerous.

T2 Walnut (in garden S. boundary) , prune by 1-1.5m, (current height 4.5m), T3 Lime, lift crown to 8m, reduce height to previous pruning points, approx 8.5m and spread 2-5m from base graduated toward top of crown, (current height of tree 27m). T4 Cypress, cut to ground, insignificant within context of conservation area. T5 Cherry, smaller tree, prune back crown spread to lawn by approx. 3m and height by 1.5m.(currently 5.5m sp.+ 8m h.) T6 Willow, prune back spread over lawn by removing two lower branches and shortening back third branch over lawn at approx. 5m, prune opposite side of crown over highway by thinning-out (approx 30%) to counter weight removal from opposing side. T7 Cherry over bottom driveway, prune height by1.5-2m, re-shape crown as appropriate to height reduction and remove low branch obstructing driveway.
