What a grant of permission means
The process from here
Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.
Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.
About amendments applications
How this application type works
An amendment application changes a permission that already exists. Non-material amendments cover small adjustments with no wider effect, while minor material amendments, usually made by varying a condition, allow modest design changes without a fresh application. Anything beyond that needs a new permission, so the scope here is deliberately narrow.

MODIFIED DESCRIPTION SEE CONDITION 3.This application is to reduce a total of 6 Oak trees listed T4-T9 on the site map. The reason for the reduction is to allow more light into the property and less damage to the cars parked under the trees on the driveway that are constantly being damaged by acorns and leaf matter. A light reduction of 1-1.5m in height and all over extended lateral limbs will help to reduce leaf fall and allow more light into the property whilst keeping the trees healthy and well shaped. The lateral limbs from the trees are heavily overhanging the road and a reduction would aid in weight reduce to avoid future limb failure. All work will be compliant with BS3998 and carried out at the correct time of year to protect the trees in question.
