What a grant of permission means

The process from here

Permission has been granted, usually subject to conditions listed on the decision notice, some of which must be discharged before work starts. The decision notice on the council portal sets out exactly what was approved.

Work must normally begin within three years of the decision or the permission lapses. Neighbours cannot appeal a grant; challenging one means judicial review of how the decision was made, within tight time limits.

About heritage and listed buildings applications

How this application type works

Heritage applications concern listed buildings and conservation areas. Listed building consent is needed for works, inside or out, that affect the special interest of a listed building, and carrying out such works without consent is a criminal offence. The council weighs harm to the heritage asset against any public benefit of the proposal.

Wellswood 33 Tadworth Street Tadworth Surrey KT20 5RJ

This application is for a light reduction of T1 Yew tree at the front of the property of 33 Tadworth street. We would like to remove dead wood and lightly reduce the overextended lateral limbs by 0.5-1m to create a well shaped and balanced crown.. The tree has started to push out new growth over the last 5 years creating an unbalanced crown resulting in poor overall shape. Given the tree is at the front of the property and on show for everyone to see a light reduction would bring the crown back to balance would be appreciated. All work will be BS3998 Compliant.

The 3 dead trees are amongst others and also bushes in the first quarter of the boundary with the allotment gardens, starting from the Church Road (southern end) of the boundary. One is understood to be a cherry tree. The two others cannot be identified. We need to cut them down carefully to a safe height, including to remove any high level branches, before the dead trees become a safety concern. This will probably mean effectively cutting the trees down to almost ground level (withing about 300mm or so).
